Dental Surgeries

Dental Health Matters

86 Spencer Rd, Londonderry, Derry - Londonderry BT47 6AG, UK – 028 7134 4234

I never leave reviews but feel I have to let others no about how excellent Dr Robert Miller is here at dental health matters . I had some teeth missing and some teeth that were what I felt out of line from my other teeth . I had originally came to Dr Millers practice as an emergency patient at the weekend but I was so impressed with the service he offered that I changed over to his practice that week . He was very honest when I asked for veneers and told me I didn't need them but cosmetically he could make my smile better by adding a bridge on one side to fill the gap of missing teeth and by crowning teeth on my opposite side out to allow for them to be in line with my other teeth . I have just completed my treatment today and to say I'm happy woukd be an understatement .... I am absolutely over the moon by teeth look AMAZING so natural and for the first time in 8 years I feel confident smiling . Thank you so much DR Miller . I'd definately advise people to come here and have an honest, excellent service.

Quayside Medical Practice

84 Strand Rd, Londonderry BT48 7NN, UK – 028 7126 2790

I've been with the practice 51 years always got best treatment. Some of the staff are there for as long as I can remember all the are genuinely interested in you and your well being great practice to belong to.

Recently moved to this practice due to poor treatment elsewhere. My family have been to see various GPs within the practice and each time the treatment and service has been outstanding. The staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. I finally feel that we will receive the appropriate care that we require. It makes such a difference. I wish we had of moved here sooner. Thank you.

Doherty Dr Patrick

Cityview Medical

121-137 Spencer Rd, Londonderry BT47 6AH, UK – 028 7131 4930

Fantastic surgery, Dr Sweeney is easily the nicest, most caring G.P i have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, I mean come on who reviews a surgery? But Dr Sweeney is a life saver and deserves every bit of praise she gets.

The best medical centre in Derry. The practice is large, clean, modern and has an amazing view of the city from the waiting area. It never takes too long to get an appointment and the receptionists are very friendly. The GPs do a great job.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

St. Columba's Church, Long Tower

Longtower St, Londonderry BT48 6QQ, UK – 028 7126 1946

INSPIRING! From an arts, archeology, and cultural standpoint the Long Tower is a hidden gem. This is an active sanctuary so be respectful (and leave a few pounds). Highlights include the site of St. Columba's original altar. In 1908 the church was renovated so you will find transitional arts and crafts influences in the magnificent stained glass (these are replete with visual references to Derry and St. Columcille, look out for oak leaves and acorns, and doves), and in the intimate baptistery.

I've always loved the long tower church Built on the site of the old monastery of st Columba and his monks

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Coshquin

La Sosta Restaurant

45A Carlisle Rd, Londonderry BT48 6JJ, UK – 028 7137 4817

Beautiful meal with authentic Italian staff. Extremely attentive and excellent service. Penne pasta with rabbit was not my favourite dish. My partners dish looked and tasted better. The competition in Derry is pretty tight in the restaurant scene lately. Lots are offering large discounts. If you want a really special night out and a varied and tasty meal, then I recommend La Sosta. Just be aware they are not trying to compete with the busier restaurants in town so be prepared to pay more realistic prices.

We had a wonderful meal this evening, I could not fault the food or service. The entrance is down an access way, and would be easily overlooked, but try it, you will be in for a treat. Certainly the best authentic Italian food we’ve had in ages.

Thompsons Restaurant

City Hotel, Queens Quay, Derry BT48 7AS, UK – 028 7136 5800

This place was rated 2 stars when I checked it out here and it very nearly made us go elsewhere. However, on further investigation, I noticed it was based on a single review and in my opinion is extremely harsh. I found the food to be way above average for a mid-range hotel restaurant. We availed of a 2 by 2 course meal offer for £39 with a bottle of wine included. The wine was surprisingly good and the food quality was excellent, so this felt like good value. Staff were very polite and seemed to enjoy their work, which always adds to the experience. Would definitely eat here again. My biggest complaint was that they don’t facilitate tips on a credit card payment, which is simply ridiculous in this day and age. It meant we left no tip, as we had no cash on us (who carries cash anymore?). That is doing a disservice to your front of house staff and actually took away from my overall customer experience as I left feeling guilty and embarrassed. Sort it out!

Browns Bonds Hill

1 Bonds Hill, Londonderry BT47 6DW, UK – 028 7134 5180

Excellent service. Waiting staff very polite and attentive. Half our party were vegetarian, half were not. The food was lovely - the restaurant offered a separate vegetarian menu for starters, mains and deserts which were interesting, different and delicious! The meat eaters also had a good choice of dishes and were all very happy with their meal. We were there early evening when the restaurant offers 2 or 3 courses for a set price so also fantastic value. This was a celebration meal and the whole package definitely surpassed expectations.

Brown's Bonds Hill I would recommend too anyone after tonight what experience from the start the staff were so friendly and polite and very professional. The food was unbelievable from start to finish so tastey and delicious. Definitely will be back and my dining partner company really enjoyable n lovely

Oakgrove Integrated College

Stradreagh, Gransha Park, Londonderry BT47 6TG, UK – 028 7186 0443

I think it's a great school and the teachers can be supportive and helpful when you need it.

Some things about this school are good, some bad, my main problem with the school though, is how some (not all) teachers think they can say whatever they want, make up whatever lies they want, be as ill mannered as they want, and still get away with it, and they do get away with it, because no one stops to even consider the side of the story that the pupil is saying and immediately assume that the teacher is correct simply because they are older, and more 'mature', i HAVE witnessed teachers lying before in this school, several times, and the principle is the most unfair woman and rude woman i have ever spoken to, she constantly says to the pupils about how you need to be polite and have manners, 2 things she seemingly has never actually had herself, i considered coming back to this school for sixth form but i couldn't stick another 2 years here, no matter how many fond memories i have of this place. miss markham, sort yourself out and learn some manners yourself before trying to make other people be polite to you.
